A Mountain West Conference (or even MWC), a youngest of the College Athletic Conferences affiliated sustaining a NCAA’s Division We-The, officially began operations inside July 1999. Geographically, the MWC covers a wide expanse of the american United States, with member institutions located in California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

Charter members involved Air Click, Brigham Young, Colorado State, Up to date Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV, Utah, & Wyoming. Before banding together to form a Mountain West Conference, a lot of a charter members got been aligned sustaining the Western Athletic Conference.

In July One, 2005, Texas Christian University, also a previous WAC member, joined the Mountain West from either Conference USA.

A MWC sponsors championships within baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, skiing, women's soccer, swimming and diving, men's and women's tennis, women's volleyball, football, softball, outdoor track and cross country. Numerous of its member schools participate in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation for sports not sponsored per Mountain West Conference.
